Water Safety Instructor Recert course prepares candidates to instruct the Red Cross Water Safety Program. Instructors experience, analyze, and apply the ParentTots, Red Cross Preschool, Red Cross Swim Kids, and Adults program curriculum. Principles of injury prevention, inclusion, progressive learning, and Red Cross fundamental principles are reinforced and reviewed. Candidates will receive temporary WSI recert card and a full WSI recertification card will be mailed within three to four weeks. Candidates must have obtained a WSI certificate within the previous 7 years to be eligible to take the WSI recert course.
Private WSI recertification courses: If your facility needs a WSI recert, you have a minimum of 6 candidates and your facility offers red cross water safety programming, a private course is possible at your location. Time: Water Safety Recertifications take approximately 4 hours.
Pre-Requisites: Proof of WSI certificate
Note: Please bring bathing attire and towel to course. A wet portion is part of the curriculm.
