A man involved in a fatal tasering incident given CPR. The British Columbia’s police watchdog is investigating the death of a Fraser Valley man who was accused of stabbing a dog.
Investigation on fatal taser incident
According to RCMP Insp. Ed Boettcher, the Chilliwack Mounties were called to a house and engaged the suspect inside the residence. The suspect allegedly struggled with police before the officers used a conducted energy weapon and arrested him.
Boettcher stated that the man appeared unresponsive, so the police performed CPR and called paramedics who took the suspect to a healthcare facility where he was later declared dead.
An officer was injured, treated in a healthcare facility and released while the dog was taken to a veterinarian. The police called the Independent Investigations Office of B.C. which Boettcher stated was on the scene.
