When an individual experiences a panic attack, the individual will notice that the heart is pounding rapidly. Individuals younger than 50 years old who suffer from panic attacks or a panic disorder are more likely to suffer from a heart attack. Even though the risk is small, the individual should discuss the possible dangers with a doctor if a pounding heart and other symptoms linked with panic attacks are experienced.
