To attend a workplace-approved Emergency First Aid and CPR recertification course, candidates must meet the following requirements:
-
Participants enrolled in emergency first aid re-certification courses will learn the latest standards and techniques in first aid and CPR. Completion of a full or recertified Emergency First Aid and CPR course within the past three years.
- Training must have been completed through a recognized Canadian provider, such as St. Mark James Training, the Canadian Red Cross, the Lifesaving Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or St. John Ambulance.
- Prior certification must have been obtained within Canada. Please note that while these certificates are nationally accredited, they do not hold international accreditation.
- Candidates must present their previous certification card to the instructor at the start of the class. Failure to provide this documentation will result in the non-issuance of a recertification card.
Please note: Certificates earned through fully online courses are not eligible for recertification. However, blended training courses — which combine online and in-class instruction — are accepted for Emergency First Aid renewal with Vancouver First Aid.
