A victim of assault in Victoria was given CPR by the police and paramedics. What started as an aggravated assault investigation was upgraded to murder when the victim of a brutal attack died.
Week-old case turns serious
Gilles Alain Thibodeau, 41-years old was found lifeless in a room at City Metro Suites, 2828 Rock Bay Ave. The police and paramedics performed CPR, resuscitating the man. He was rushed to Victoria General Hospital but did not regain consciousness. The man died in a healthcare facility, one week after the assault.
The police arrested West Shore resident Jason Robert Van Winkle; 35-years old. He has a history of frequent run-ins with the police.
