A 37-year old stabbing victim was successfully resuscitated with CPR. He is fighting for his life after police found him without a pulse.
Stabbing incident
According to Insp. Dean Robinson, the officers found the may lying unconscious in the intersection at Main and Hastings streets around 1:300 AM and immediately performed CPR.
They were able to resuscitate the man before the arrival of the paramedics. He was rushed to a healthcare facility for emergency surgery where he remains in critical condition.
A 22-year old New Westminster man was arrested in the 600-block of Quebec Street shortly after. He is currently facing undisclosed charges. The detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crime Section were called in to investigate.
The motive has not yet been determined but Robinson stated that there were several witnesses who will speak to the police.
